AcroMaker

You may have noticed on Monday that we pushed out the new version of AcroMaker. This is the third version of the acronym generator and there’s a few key items you may notice.

• We have updated our databases to help create cleaner acronyms. Our old database was unfortunately full of words that didn’t exist due to a faulty system of adding words! That’s all changed now. As time goes on you can expect to see a wider variety of acronyms, as well as acronyms that will start to make more sense and have a higher dose of “hilarious”.
• You have the ability to log-in to “Like” or “Dislike” acronyms. Once we have enough users voting up and down on acronyms, you will see a page pushed out that shows the most liked and the most disliked acronyms on AcroMaker.
• A Facebook “Recommend” button is on the page. We encourage the use of this handy button! If you like your acronym, please share us with your friends on Facebook by simply clicking this button.
• Inline dictionary definitions are now available, thanks to Wordnik. We want AcroMaker to not only be entertaining, but educational should we generate an acronym with a word you don’t understand. Just click the word you’re confused about in the definitions list underneath your acronym.

You may have also noticed our blogging has slowed down, after we got such a great start over the course of a couple of weeks. We haven’t given up the blog altogether, we just simply have a lot of work to do to keep the site running and it’s a small force running the site – and the priority is to develop a great experience over keeping a daily blog.
